One meridian (organ) has its highest energy level exactly when another on the opposite side has its lowest. In the study, researchers had adults walk or run on a moving platform that captured data on the amount of force, or load, each step had with the ground over a set distance. Bacon, Ham And Sausages Have The Same Cancer Risk As Cigarettes And Asbestos

Rashers of bacon and ham are on the list of processed meats now thought to be as carcinogenic as tobacco.
The shock findings come from a report by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
It is expected to list processed meat as a cancer-causing substance, while fresh red meat is also expected to be regarded as bad for health, it is reported in the Daily Mail.
The classifications, by the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer, are believed to regard processed meat as “carcinogenic to humans”, the highest of five possible rankings, shared with alcohol, asbestos, arsenic and cigarettes.
The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has warned for several years that there is “strong evidence” that consuming a lot of red meat can cause bowel cancer.
It also says there is “strong evidence” that processed meats – even in smaller quantities – increase cancer risk.
One possible reason is that the compound that gives red meat its colour, haem, may damage the lining of the bowel.
In addition, when meat is preserved by smoking, curing or salting, or by adding preservatives, cancer-causing substances (carcinogens) can be formed.
Studies also show that people who eat a lot of red meat tend to eat fewer plant-based foods that protect against cancer.
The WCRF advises that people can reduce their bowel cancer risk by eating no more than 500g (cooked weight) per week of red meat, such as beef, pork and lamb.
It also says people should eat processed meats such as ham, bacon and salami as little as possible.
Foods like hamburgers, minced beef, pork chops and roast lamb are also regarded as red meat.
As a rough guide, the WCRF says 500g of cooked red meat is the same as 700g of raw red meat.
Processed meat is meat which has been preserved by smoking, curing or salting, or by the addition of preservatives.
Examples include ham, bacon, pastrami and salami, as well as hot dogs and some sausages.

NASA’s Juno Sends New Pictures Of Jupiter

NASA’s Juno spacecraft has sent new pictures of Jupiter’s north pole. The images show storm and weather activity unlike anything previously seen on any of our solar system’s gas-giant planets. On the pictures there are storms swirling around it’s two poles.

“It looks like nothing we have seen or imagined before” said Scott Bolton, principal investigator on the Juno project.

Juno successfully executed the first of 36 orbital flybys on Aug. 27 when the spacecraft came about 2,500 miles above Jupiter’s clouds. The Juno spacecraft launched on Aug. 5, 2011 and arrived at Jupiter on July 4, 2016. It’s a 1.1 billion dollar project. Scientists want to establish how much water the planet contains. Juno is the first spacecraft to carry a titanium vault designed to shield its computer and electronics from intense radiation. Once Juno is done studying Jupiter, likely by February 2018, NASA plans on retiring the intrepid spacecraft by performing a “deorbit phase.” This maneuver just basically means it’ll hurtle itself toward Jupiter’s turbulent atmosphere, where it will burn up.

A galaxy is a gravitationally bound system of stars, stellar remnants, interstellar gas, dust, and dark matter.Galaxies range in size from dwarfs with just a few billion stars to giants with one hundred trillion stars, each orbiting its galaxy’s center of mass. Galaxies are categorized according to their visual morphology as elliptical, spiral and irregular. Many galaxies are thought to have black holes at their active centers. Approximately 170 billion to 200 billion galaxies exist in the observable universe. Most of the galaxies are 1,000 to 100,000 parsecs in diameter and usually separated by distances on the order of millions of parsecs (or megaparsecs). The space between galaxies is filled with a tenuous gas having an average density of less than one atom per cubic meter. The majority of galaxies are gravitationally organized into associations known as galaxy groups, clusters, and superclusters. At the largest scale, these associations are generally arranged into sheets and filaments surrounded by immense voids.

1. Sombrero Galaxy The Sombrero Galaxy is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo located 28 million light-years from Earth. The galaxy has a diameter of approximately 50,000 light-years, 30% the size of the Milky Way.

NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has trained its razor-sharp eye on one of the universe's most stately and photogenic galaxies, the Sombrero galaxy, Messier 104 (M104). The galaxy's hallmark is a brilliant white, bulbous core encircled by the thick dust lanes comprising the spiral structure of the galaxy. As seen from Earth, the galaxy is tilted nearly edge-on. We view it from just six degrees north of its equatorial plane. This brilliant galaxy was named the Sombrero because of its resemblance to the broad rim and high-topped Mexican hat. At a relatively bright magnitude of +8, M104 is just beyond the limit of naked-eye visibility and is easily seen through small telescopes. The Sombrero lies at the southern edge of the rich Virgo cluster of galaxies and is one of the most massive objects in that group, equivalent to 800 billion suns. The galaxy is 50,000 light-years across and is located 28 million light-years from Earth.

2. Messier 83 is a barred spiral galaxy approximately 15 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. It is one of the closest and brightest barred spiral galaxies in the sky, making it visible with binoculars.


3. Antennae Galaxies, also known as NGC 4038/NGC 4039, are a pair of interacting galaxies in the constelattion Corvus. They are currently going through a starbust phase, in which the collision of clouds of gas and dust, with entangled magnetic fields, causes rapid star formation.


4. Whirlpool Galaxy, also known as Messier 51a, M51a, or NGC 5194, is an interacting grand-design spiral galaxy with a Seyfert 2 active galactic nucleus in the constellation Canes Venatici.


5. The Porpoise Galaxy also known as Arp 142 looks like a dolphin. the eye of the dolphin being the core of a large spiral galaxy that is being distorted by the tidal influence of an even larger galaxy below it. The area to the left of the “eye” that looks like the nose of the dolphin, is in fact a huge star forming region, in which young, hot new stars illuminate the surrounding gas and dust clouds. It is expected that in about a billion or so years, the dolphin shape will have transformed itself into a regular galaxy as the merger runs itscourse.
