The Chinese Body Clock Able To Tell You What Is Going On With Your Body

What does it mean if you wake up at the same time every night and don’t feel good? The Chinese Organ or Body Clock, may be able to tell you what is going on with your body. In fact, the way our body is constructed is to contain an energy system of meridians, other than the known systems such as the lymphatic system, nervous system, etc. Those meridians are channels not unlike blood vessels, but with energy flowing through instead of blood. They affect the body and the substance exchange in it.The Chinese biological clock can show us the intervals in which energy circulates through the body, and the strongest energy levels in an area of the body every two hours. If there are problems in that particular area, the symptoms are noticeable. There are a total of 12 meridians, belonging to every major organ. These are the lungs, large intestine, stomach, spleen, heart, small intestine, bladder, heart area, kidney, duodenum, gallbladder and liver meridians. According to yin-yang, they are divided in six yin and six yang meridians. The yin meridians belong to the organs which collect, storage and process substances and energy: the liver, lungs, spleen, heart, kidney and heart area. The yang meridians include the organs which exchange and excrete substances and energy: the colon, stomach, small intestine, bladder, duodenum and gallbladder. The Chinese medicine and law of rhythm rules say that the meridians work for 24 hours, divided in 12 two hour intervals. Each meridian has its peak when the opposite meridian hits its low. A Chinese doctor always asks his patient first about what time of the day the symptoms appeared. Knowing that, he understands where the problem originates, or rather where the energy circulates with issues, or there is too much energy. Its best to follow the biological clock and write down the time when the symptoms appeared. Also, note the time of day when you’re most energetic, and when you wake up at night – that also implies there’s an issue in a certain part of the body.
Time Of Maximum Function
1 – 3 AM – liver (detoxification, muscles and eyes)
3 AM – 5 AM – lungs (skin)
5 AM – 7 AM – colon (assimilation, elimination, skin)
7 AM – 9 AM- stomach (lymph, food digestion)
9 AM – 11 AM – spleen, pancreas (lymph, food digestion)
11 AM – 1 PM – heart (artery blood circulation)
1 PM – 3 PM – small intestine (digestion, assimilation, arteries)
3 PM – 5 PM – bladder (bones, teeth, elimination, cleaning)
5 PM – 7 PM – kidneys (bones, teeth, ears, filtration, elimination)
7 PM – 9 PM – cardiac layer (constriction of blood vessels)
9 PM – 11 PM – duodenum (thermoregulation)
11 PM – 1 AM – gallbladder (digestion, muscles, eyes) Time Of Minimal Functions Or Rest
1 AM – 3 AM – small intestine (digestion, assimilation of the arteries)
3 AM -5 AM – bladder (bones, teeth, cleaning elimination)
5 AM – 7 AM – kidney disease (bones, teeth, ears, filtration, elimination)
7 AM – 9 AM – the heart layer (constriction of blood vessels)
9 AM – 11 AM – duodenum (thermoregulation)
11 AM – 1 PM – gallbladder (digestion, muscles, eyes)
11 PM – 3 PM – liver (detoxification, muscles and eyes)
3 PM – 5 PM – lungs (skin)
5 PM – 7 PM – colon (assimilation, elimination, skin)
7 PM – 9 PM – stomach (lymph, food and digestion)
9 PM – 11 PM – spleen, pancreas (lymph, food digestion)
11 PM – 1 AM – heart (artery blood circulation).
One meridian (organ) has its highest energy level exactly when another on the opposite side has its lowest. Take the liver for example: its highest energy levels are between 1 and 3 AM, and at that time the small intestine is at its lowest energy level. When you eat late and go to sleep, the food is not absorbed well in the small intestine, so you have to avoid certain activities when the energy of the body involved in the activity is at its lowest. During the maximum activity all the functions are boosted. In cases of diseases of excess energy which burden a system, they will show symptoms and that is the exact time to reduce the excess energy. If an organ shows weakness during maximum activity, it should be strengthened. Besides this clock, natural medicine has many other remedies that can help with lack of energy, like acupuncture, homeopathy, etc..

Running Doesn’t Damage Your Knees

images
In the study, researchers had adults walk or run on a moving platform that captured data on the amount of force, or load, each step had with the ground over a set distance. Results showed that the force exerted on the knees while running was as much as 3 times higher than while walking, but this was offset by the time runners spent in the air and the length of their stride.
While the extra load caused by running has long been a concern, especially for bigger guys who are pounding the pavement, it has never been shown to increase the risk of knee osteoarthritis—the irreversible wearing away of the knee cartilage—for runners, says Ross Miller, Ph.D. and study author.
The studies show that regular runners actually experience less long-term damage to their knee joints than non-runners. Even though running generates more force (and burden on your knees) than walking, you pound the pavement less frequently when running because your strides are longer. So, as long as your knees are healthy to begin with, running doesn’t significantly increase your chances of developing arthritis.
In fact, regular runners actually experienced less knee pain over time. This is partially because running keeps you super fit (meaning you are likely to carry less excess weight). And a regular running regimen typically leads to better overall muscle strength.

Make A Zen Bedroom

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Cool colors like blue and green are popular in Zen bedrooms.
Painting the room a calming color is the first step toward creating a serene Zen bedroom. Think about the colors of nature — the blues of the sky and the greens of the water, the warm golds of the sand and the sun. Stay away from bright tones and busy patterns. Use crisp white or light colored bedding, as simple as possible when it comes to patterns or textures.
Decluttering is an essential part of creating a Zen bedroom.
Spend nothing at all on the next step of decorating your Zen bedroom by simply removing the clutter from the room. Not just the clothes on the back of the chair or the stacks of magazines on the floor by the bed. Take absolutely everything out of the room and bring back only the barest essentials — the items that mean the most to you, that make you feel calm and peaceful.
Accessorize your Zen bedroom with nature.
Bringing in elements of nature is the next step in decorating your Zen bedroom. Once again, this is an inexpensive step. Shop at thrift stores for simple, unusual pieces of glass or pottery, woven baskets and storage pieces. Fill the glass and pottery with seashells or pretty stones. Store your junk in bamboo or woven boxes, baskets or chests. Create unusual wall hangings from twigs.
Symmetry and balance — the elements of Zen.
Decorating your Zen bedroom symmetrically represents the balance in life that is part of the practice of Zen. Use two matched pieces wherever possible in the room. Place matching or very similar night stands on either side of the bed, each holding identical lamps and similar accessories. Hang two pieces of matching art over the bed. Prop two matching pillows up against the headboard.
Let the light into your Zen bedroom.
The final step in decorating your Zen bedroom is light. Cover the windows with only the barest of window treatments, or no curtains at all if possible. Add light to areas of the room that may benefit from natural light through the use of reflective surfaces or mirrors.

Bacon, Ham And Sausages Have The Same Cancer Risk As Cigarettes And Asbestos

Rashers of bacon and ham are on the list of processed meats now thought to be as carcinogenic as tobacco.
The shock findings come from a report by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
It is expected to list processed meat as a cancer-causing substance, while fresh red meat is also expected to be regarded as bad for health, it is reported in the Daily Mail.
The classifications, by the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer, are believed to regard processed meat as “carcinogenic to humans”, the highest of five possible rankings, shared with alcohol, asbestos, arsenic and cigarettes.
The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has warned for several years that there is “strong evidence” that consuming a lot of red meat can cause bowel cancer.
It also says there is “strong evidence” that processed meats – even in smaller quantities – increase cancer risk.
One possible reason is that the compound that gives red meat its colour, haem, may damage the lining of the bowel.
In addition, when meat is preserved by smoking, curing or salting, or by adding preservatives, cancer-causing substances (carcinogens) can be formed.
Studies also show that people who eat a lot of red meat tend to eat fewer plant-based foods that protect against cancer.
The WCRF advises that people can reduce their bowel cancer risk by eating no more than 500g (cooked weight) per week of red meat, such as beef, pork and lamb.
It also says people should eat processed meats such as ham, bacon and salami as little as possible.
Foods like hamburgers, minced beef, pork chops and roast lamb are also regarded as red meat.
As a rough guide, the WCRF says 500g of cooked red meat is the same as 700g of raw red meat.
Processed meat is meat which has been preserved by smoking, curing or salting, or by the addition of preservatives.
Examples include ham, bacon, pastrami and salami, as well as hot dogs and some sausages.

Healthy Cooking Techniques

cooking

The healthy cooking methods described here best capture the flavor and retain the nutrients in foods without adding excessive amounts of fat or salt. Use them often to prepare your favorite dishes.

1. Baking

Besides breads and desserts, you can bake seafood, poultry, lean meat, vegetables and fruits. For baking, place food in a pan or dish surrounded by the hot, dry air of your oven. You may cook the food covered or uncovered. Baking generally doesn’t require that you add fat to the food.

2. Braising

Braising involves browning (searing) the ingredient first in a pan on top of the stove, and then slowly cooking it partially covered with a small quantity of liquid, such as water or broth. In some recipes, the cooking liquid is used afterward to form a flavorful, nutrient-rich sauce.

3. Broiling and grilling

Both broiling and grilling expose food to direct heat. To grill outdoors, place the food on a grill rack above a bed of charcoal embers or gas-heated rocks. If you have an indoor grill, follow the manufacturer’s directions. For smaller items, such as chopped vegetables, use foil or a long-handled grill basket to prevent pieces from slipping through the rack. To broil, place food on a broiler rack below a heat element. Both methods allow fat to drip away from the food.

4. Poaching

To poach foods, gently simmer ingredients in water or a flavorful liquid, such as broth, vinegar or wine, until they’re cooked through and tender. The food retains its shape during cooking. For stove-top poaching, choose a covered pan that best fits the size and shape of the food so that you need a minimal amount of liquid.

Keep Yourself Motivated

Many people start, but they may stop when they get bored, they don’t enjoy it or results come too slowly. Here are seven tips to help you stay motivated.

1. Set goals

Having goals for things we want to do and working towards them is an important part of being human. The path towards our goals may not always run smoothly or be easy, but having goals, whether big or small, is part of what makes life good. It gives us a sense of meaning and purpose, points us in the direction we want to go and gets us interested and engaged, all of which are good for our overall happiness. Goals lose their meaning when the reasons we want to achieve them are no longer important to us. If you want to get motivated and stay motivated, find deep-rooted reasons.Look at your goals and write out a full page on the reasons you’re willing to do absolutely anything possible to achieve them.

2. Get around the right people

Get around people with goals and plans, people who are going somewhere with their lives and have high aspirations. Not the one who sit home and doing nothing! Avoid the negative people! Negative people and conversations will have you focused on all the wrong things and may take your focus off of your goals.

3. Get Going

The faster you move, the better you get. And the better you get, the more you like yourself. And the more you like yourself, the higher your self-esteem is. And the higher your self-esteem is, the greater your self-discipline is. And the more you persist, then you ultimately become unstoppable.

4. Dispel your fears

The large portion of our thoughts are fear-based. What happens if so-and-so happens? We ask ourselves fear-based questions without even consciously being aware of it. For that reason, if we want to get and stay motivated, we have to dispel our fears.

5. Manage your time effectively

Stay motivated by organizing your time and limiting the time-wasters. Remember that it’s impossible to get everything done. Plan to spend at least 50 percent of your time engaged in the thoughts, activities and conversations that produce most of your results. Schedule appointments with yourself and create time blocks for high-priority thoughts, conversations, and actions. Schedule when they will begin and end. Have the discipline to keep these appointments. And remember, put up a “Do not disturb” sign when you absolutely have to get work done.

NASA’s Juno Sends New Pictures Of Jupiter

NASA’s Juno spacecraft has sent new pictures of Jupiter’s north pole. The images show storm and weather activity unlike anything previously seen on any of our solar system’s gas-giant planets. On the pictures there are storms swirling around it’s two poles.

“It looks like nothing we have seen or imagined before” said Scott Bolton, principal investigator on the Juno project.

Juno successfully executed the first of 36 orbital flybys on Aug. 27 when the spacecraft came about 2,500 miles above Jupiter’s clouds. The Juno spacecraft launched on Aug. 5, 2011 and arrived at Jupiter on July 4, 2016. It’s a 1.1 billion dollar project. Scientists want to establish how much water the planet contains. Juno is the first spacecraft to carry a titanium vault designed to shield its computer and electronics from intense radiation. Once Juno is done studying Jupiter, likely by February 2018, NASA plans on retiring the intrepid spacecraft by performing a “deorbit phase.” This maneuver just basically means it’ll hurtle itself toward Jupiter’s turbulent atmosphere, where it will burn up.

5 Amazing Galaxies

A galaxy is a gravitationally bound system of stars, stellar remnants, interstellar gas, dust, and dark matter.Galaxies range in size from dwarfs with just a few billion stars to giants with one hundred trillion stars, each orbiting its galaxy’s center of mass. Galaxies are categorized according to their visual morphology as elliptical, spiral and irregular. Many galaxies are thought to have black holes at their active centers. Approximately 170 billion to 200 billion galaxies exist in the observable universe. Most of the galaxies are 1,000 to 100,000 parsecs in diameter and usually separated by distances on the order of millions of parsecs (or megaparsecs). The space between galaxies is filled with a tenuous gas having an average density of less than one atom per cubic meter. The majority of galaxies are gravitationally organized into associations known as galaxy groups, clusters, and superclusters. At the largest scale, these associations are generally arranged into sheets and filaments surrounded by immense voids.
These are 5 amazing galaxies:
1. Sombrero Galaxy The Sombrero Galaxy is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo located 28 million light-years from Earth. The galaxy has a diameter of approximately 50,000 light-years, 30% the size of the Milky Way.

NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has trained its razor-sharp eye on one of the universe's most stately and photogenic galaxies, the Sombrero galaxy, Messier 104 (M104). The galaxy's hallmark is a brilliant white, bulbous core encircled by the thick dust lanes comprising the spiral structure of the galaxy. As seen from Earth, the galaxy is tilted nearly edge-on. We view it from just six degrees north of its equatorial plane. This brilliant galaxy was named the Sombrero because of its resemblance to the broad rim and high-topped Mexican hat. At a relatively bright magnitude of +8, M104 is just beyond the limit of naked-eye visibility and is easily seen through small telescopes. The Sombrero lies at the southern edge of the rich Virgo cluster of galaxies and is one of the most massive objects in that group, equivalent to 800 billion suns. The galaxy is 50,000 light-years across and is located 28 million light-years from Earth.

2. Messier 83 is a barred spiral galaxy approximately 15 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. It is one of the closest and brightest barred spiral galaxies in the sky, making it visible with binoculars.

3. Antennae Galaxies, also known as NGC 4038/NGC 4039, are a pair of interacting galaxies in the constelattion Corvus. They are currently going through a starbust phase, in which the collision of clouds of gas and dust, with entangled magnetic fields, causes rapid star formation.

4. Whirlpool Galaxy, also known as Messier 51a, M51a, or NGC 5194, is an interacting grand-design spiral galaxy with a Seyfert 2 active galactic nucleus in the constellation Canes Venatici.

5. The Porpoise Galaxy also known as Arp 142 looks like a dolphin. the eye of the dolphin being the core of a large spiral galaxy that is being distorted by the tidal influence of an even larger galaxy below it. The area to the left of the “eye” that looks like the nose of the dolphin, is in fact a huge star forming region, in which young, hot new stars illuminate the surrounding gas and dust clouds. It is expected that in about a billion or so years, the dolphin shape will have transformed itself into a regular galaxy as the merger runs itscourse.
